ASH Latin American Training Program (LATP)

About this program

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) funds the Latin American Training Program (LATP), which supports 12-week, regionally prioritized training placements to build clinical and laboratory hematology capacity across Latin America. LATP pays travel and living expenses (pending budget approval), facilitates institutional mentorships, and offers training in Spanish or Portuguese with flexible dates within one year of award. Applicants must be permanently employed (not fellows or trainees) hematologists or hematology-related health professionals working in one of the eligible Latin American countries (e.g., Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela). Awardees may be at any career stage and need not be ASH members or English-proficient, but are expected to implement their training at their home institution and complete program evaluations at 30 days, six months, and one year.
