ASIS&T Research Impact Award (sponsored by Rutgers University)

About this program

Rutgers University sponsors the ASIS&T Research Impact Award to recognize an individual or team that has translated a single information science research project into demonstrable societal impact benefiting organizational or community partners or end users beyond academia. The award includes a US$1,000 cash prize and up to US$1,500 toward travel/attendance at the ASIS&T Annual Meeting, with the winner presenting at the meeting and a follow‑up webinar; selection emphasizes nature and scale of impact, linkage to ASIS&T core values, and lessons learned. Eligible nominees are individuals or teams involved in information science research or development, and at least one nominee or team representative must be a current ASIS&T member in good standing; prior winners and certain ASIS&T officials are excluded. Nominations require a CV, contact information, and a 3‑page narrative (Helvetica 11 or similar) describing the project, impact evidence, process and lessons learned (narratives must not be AI‑generated), submitted via the ASIS&T portal by the annual April 1 deadline.
