ASSFN AMPLify Mentorship Program (3-month visiting fellowship)

About this program

The American Association for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ASSFN) AMPLify Mentorship Program funds mentor–mentee partnerships to provide early exposure, practical guidance, and networking in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery through a contiguous 3‑month visiting fellowship at the mentor’s institution (to occur between July 1, 2027 and June 30, 2028) plus nine months of ongoing mentorship; ASSFN will offset housing, board, and travel costs (total award amount TBD). Eligible applicants are North American residents and medical students in good standing with interest in the field; both applicant and proposed mentor must be ASSFN members, the mentor must be at a different institution, and the mentor must provide a letter confirming institutional approvals/credentials (including clinical observer status if applicable); candidates from resource‑limited institutions are especially encouraged. Applications (single PDF ≤10 MB) submitted via the specified form by 11:59 pm ET on November 2, 2026 must include a cover letter confirming ASSFN membership, CV, mentor letter of support, and a 4‑page AMPLify proposal with background, rationale, proposed research and 3‑month schedule, and an estimated itemized budget. Mentees are expected to present their experiences and research findings at the ASSFN Biennial Meeting (tentatively May 2028).
