Assistance for Graduate Students Attending the January 2027 Convention

About this program

The Modern Language Association offers limited $400 partial travel reimbursements to current graduate student members attending the January 2027 annual convention for workshops, scholarly sessions, or career counseling. Applicants must be enrolled graduate students and may receive an MLA convention grant only once during their graduate studies; preference will be given to those without institutional support, facing substantial travel costs, and who have not previously received an MLA convention grant. Applications are accepted online from early September through November 1, and applicants are encouraged to request matching funds from their departments or institutions.
