ASTMH Communications Award

About this program

The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) offers the Communications Award to recognize outstanding English-language journalism, broadcasting, or documentaries that accurately and creatively advance public understanding of tropical medicine research, clinical practice, or policy. Eligible works must be published or released from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and nominations for the 2026 award close September 1, 2026. Applicants may be ASTMH members or nonmembers, and self-nominations are permitted; books, scientific journal studies, blogs, website or YouTube videos, and series are ineligible. Each nomination must cover a single work and include a publication file or publicly accessible link, with nominators limited to three submissions.
