AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans

About this program

The American Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Foundation offer ten $15,000 scholarships to support military veterans pursuing veterinary medicine. Funding is available for tuition and related educational expenses, with awards disbursed for the fall 2026 semester. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and honorably discharged or active-duty members of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, or Space Force, enrolled in their first, second, or third year at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school and in good academic standing. Applicants must also demonstrate involvement and leadership in university-affiliated organizations; applications are accepted September 1–30, 2026.
