AWM Travel Grants

About this program

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) offers competitive travel grants supporting women mathematicians’ travel and subsistence expenses for a single domestic or international research conference. Awards provide up to $2,500 for domestic travel or $3,500 for international travel, with applications due February 15, May 15, or October 1. Applicants must be women mathematicians holding a doctorate or equivalent and working or residing in the United States, or PhD students expecting to graduate within one year; the conference or research must fall within an NSF-supported mathematical sciences area. Applications require a 2–3-page research proposal, NSF-format CV, detailed budget, funding statement, and, when applicable, a speaker confirmation or thesis-advisor letter.
