Barry C. Melancon Professional Accounting Research (PAR) Fellowship

About this program

The AICPA & CIMA Barry C. Melancon Professional Accounting Research Fellowship awards up to $10,000 to two doctoral accounting students annually—one pursuing public-accounting research and one pursuing management-accounting research—to advance accounting practice and the profession. Applicants must be enrolled in an appropriate doctoral program, demonstrate strong academic performance, hold a U.S. CPA or CGMA/FCMA/ACMA certification, and have relevant public- or management-accounting experience. They must also submit an approved research proposal, institutional endorsement, recommendations, transcripts, career statements, and evidence of financial need and professional involvement, and commit to teaching and research at an accredited university after graduation.
