Beinecke Library Research Fellowships for Graduate Students

About this program

Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library offers competitive fellowships of $5,000 per month for one- to four-month, onsite research visits using Yale Library Special Collections during July 1, 2027–June 30, 2028. The program supports advanced graduate research, including traditional, creative, interdisciplinary, and non-traditional projects, with applications due September 15, 2026. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree program during the fellowship, be at an advanced research or prospectus stage, and submit a CV, a research proposal, a detailed list of collections to be examined, and one confidential recommendation letter. Fellows are expected to undertake full-time residential research and are responsible for reporting the award and paying applicable taxes.
