About this program
The Kansas Library Association, in partnership with Soutron-Auto-Graphics, offers the Best Small Library Award to recognize creative, excellent, and replicable services, programs, or activities in small Kansas public libraries; the award includes a monetary honorarium and recognition at the 2026 KLA Conference. Eligible libraries must serve a taxing-district population of fewer than 5,000, and may self-nominate or be nominated by an individual or organization. Applications must describe the service, funding, promotion and staff training, evaluation and community impact, and plans for continuation in no more than 1,000 words, with limited supporting materials. Applications are due September 21, 2026, and must be submitted to Melany Wilks.
