BIAA Dissertation Grants

About this program

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) offers Dissertation Grants of up to $5,000 for up to two years to support doctoral research on chronic brain injury, including its causes, consequences, and mitigation. For 2026, BIAA welcomes animal and human studies using quantitative or qualitative methods, including secondary data analysis; up to two awards may be made. Applicants must be admitted to doctoral candidacy with an approved dissertation proposal, and the award is made to their U.S. institution regardless of citizenship. Applications require a letter of interest followed, if invited, by a full proposal, along with a CV, dissertation materials, and an advisor recommendation confirming good standing.
