About this program
Texas Sea Grant offers a biennial research competition supporting community-engaged, outcome-oriented projects that advance understanding, sustainable use, and stewardship of Texas coastal and marine resources. Proposals may address natural, physical, social, behavioral, or economic sciences and engineering, with expected social, economic, and environmental benefits for Texas. The competition generally opens in fall or early winter of even-numbered years; the 2026–2028 request for proposals opened January 27, 2025. Applicants should align projects with the Texas Sea Grant Strategic Plan 2024–2027 and the requirements detailed in the current RFP.
