BIRD General Program

About this program

The BIRD Foundation’s General Program supports joint industrial R&D projects that provide mutual benefit to the United States and Israel across high-technology sectors. BIRD funds up to 50% of eligible R&D costs through a conditional grant of up to $1.5 million per project, with repayment tied to project-generated revenues. Applicants must be two unrelated companies—one registered in the United States and one in Israel—that jointly develop an innovative technology or product with strong commercial potential. Executive summaries are due November 23, 2026, and full proposals are due January 21, 2027; applicants must consult with BIRD before submission.
