Boating Infrastructure Grant

About this program

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department administers the federally funded Boating Infrastructure Grant program to support construction, renovation, and maintenance of transient boating facilities for vessels 26 feet or longer. Eligible projects may receive reimbursement for up to 75% of approved costs, including docks, slips, navigational aids, utilities, pumpout stations, and safe harbors, with Tier 1 funding available up to $100,000 and larger Tier 2 projects considered competitively. Eligible applicants include public or private marinas, boatyards, and state, county, or municipal parks that are open to the public, located on navigable waters with at least six feet of low-water depth, can accommodate qualifying vessels, and are within two miles of a public pumpout facility. Applicants must contact the department before applying; applications are accepted year-round but must be submitted by August 15 for annual review.
