Bob Skiera Memorial Fund Building Bridges Initiative and John P. White Grant Program

About this program

TREE Fund, in partnership with the Skiera Family, Wisconsin Arborist Association, International Society of Arboriculture, and John P. White Memorial Fund, offers grants of up to $30,000 through the Building Bridges Initiative to support collaborative research and projects that communicate the value of trees and urban forests across professional disciplines. Eligible proposals may use qualitative or quantitative approaches and should engage arborists or urban foresters with fields such as public works, engineering, risk assessment, wildlife research, or soil science. Grants are not available to individuals and exclude primarily municipal tree surveys, tree planting programs, traditional forestry or conservation studies, and product testing benefiting manufacturers. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent identifying the principal investigator and contracting institution by September 1, 2026; invited full proposals are due October 15, 2026.
