About this program
The Anthropology & Environment Society, a section of the American Anthropological Association, offers the $250 Bonnie J. McCay Junior Scholar Award to recognize exemplary scholarship in anthropology and environment and encourage continued work in the field. The recipient will be announced at the AAA Annual Meeting. Eligible nominees must be early-career scholars who earned a Ph.D. within the past five years and must be current A&E members. Nominations must be based on a refereed journal article published within the last two calendar years, at least in galley or page-proof stage, with the nominee as lead author, and are due September 1, 2026, to Chloe Ahmann.
