Brice & Shirley Phillips Best Practice Award

About this program

The Maryland Association of School Business Officials (MD ASBO) offers the Brice & Shirley Phillips Best Practice Award to recognize innovative, effective practices or new ideas that significantly benefit school systems or the school business management profession and can be replicated by other districts. Recipients receive recognition at the MD ASBO Fall Conference, a plaque, an opportunity to present at the Spring Conference, and complimentary Spring Conference registration with an oceanfront hotel room. Applicants must be active MD ASBO members, full-time school business officials employed by a school district, and the developers of a practice implemented within the past three years; only one applicant per school system may be recognized. Applications must be submitted as a Word document to Jeff LaPorta at jlaporta@asbo.org by September 30 and address innovation, replicability, outcomes, and effects on student achievement.
