The American Psychological Foundation offers the Bruce and Jane Walsh Grant in Memory of John Holland, a one-time $19,000 award supporting scientific, scholarly, or applied research and educational projects that examine how personality, culture, and environment influence work behavior and mental and physical health. Preference is given to early-career psychologists (no more than 10 years postdoctoral) and to pilot or demonstration projects likely to secure larger federal or foundation funding or generalize broadly; applicants must be affiliated with a nonprofit charitable, educational, or scientific institution or a governmental entity operating for charitable and educational purposes and must demonstrate capacity to execute the proposed work. Applications require a project proposal, timeline, detailed budget and justification, and CV, are evaluated on goals, innovation, methodology, investigator competency, and funding criticality, and must be submitted via the APF GivingData portal by September 18, 2026 (APF does not provide applicant feedback).
