Bruno Rossi Prize (High Energy Astrophysics Division, AAS)

About this program

Offered annually by the High Energy Astrophysics Division of the American Astronomical Society, the Bruno Rossi Prize honors a significant, recent, original contribution to high-energy astrophysics. Up to two recipients receive a $1,500 cash award, a citation, and an invited plenary lecture at an AAS meeting, with travel and registration for presenters covered by the Division. Nominations may be submitted by any Division member (individuals rather than teams are encouraged) and the winner is chosen by the Division’s Executive Committee. A nomination package must include a nominee qualification letter with a suggested citation, an abbreviated CV (≤5 pages), a publication list with links to one or two key papers, and up to three optional supporting letters; the deadline for 2027 nominations is 30 September 2026 and nominations remain valid for three years.
