CAMS HH Wang-Ngai Junior Faculty Award

About this program

The Chinese American Medical Society's CAMS HH Wang-Ngai Junior Faculty Award provides up to $6,000 over two years to support preliminary data collection, equipment, or research personnel for basic, translational, or clinical research addressing health problems of the Chinese American community. Funds may not be used for the PI's salary or institutional indirect costs, and the award is intended to strengthen a grant application to be submitted within one year; the award will be presented November 21, 2026 at the CAMS & CAIPA Red Lantern Gala in New York City. Eligible applicants are Chinese American female clinician-investigators or physician-scientists based in New York who are beginning an independent research career and hold the rank of Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor at an LCME-accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school. Applications (online form plus a single PDF emailed to scholarship@camsociety.org) must include a signed cover page, biosketch (≤5 pages), career and research environment statements, a project description (≤3 pages plus up to 2 pages figures/references), brief budget justification, and two signed institutional recommendation letters, submitted by 2026-09-30.
