Career Development Award

About this program

The American Academy of Neurology offers a three-year Career Development Award supporting junior investigators pursuing academic careers in clinical, basic, or translational neurological research, with funding of $150,000 annually ($450,000 total). Applicants must be neurologists and AAN members who completed residency 5–10 years before the July 1, 2027, start date and may be based at accredited U.S. or international institutions. Applicants receiving individual K or R awards are ineligible, and other concurrent career-development funding may not exceed $150,000 annually; the award requires 70% protected research time and clinical duties of no more than 30%.
