About this program

Keats-Shelley Association of America offers annual Carl H. Pforzheimer, Jr. Research Grants of $3,000 to support research expenses (e.g., archival travel) for scholarship in Romantic-era literature and culture; grants do not fund time off for writing or conference travel. Preference is given to projects related to subjects featured in The Keats–Shelley Journal, and proposals that broaden the field—particularly those addressing race, empire, gender, class, and global Romanticisms—are encouraged; awardees conducting archival work at the British Library may be recommended for an additional top-off through the American Trust for the British Library. Eligible applicants are advanced graduate students, untenured faculty, and independent scholars working outside the academy. Submit a single PDF by 1 November 2026 to KSAA.Pforzheimer@gmail.com including the completed application form, CV, a project description (up to three pages), a one-page bibliography, and arrange for two referees to send letters directly; grant recipients must file year-end reports describing fund use.
