CCCC Scholars for the Dream Travel Award

About this program

The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), part of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), offers the Scholars for the Dream Travel Award—$1,000 travel grants—to support scholarship by historically underrepresented emerging scholars in rhetoric and composition. Awardees also receive a reception and career-mentoring opportunities with CCCC members; if the annual convention is online with no in-person component, recipients receive complimentary convention registration instead of travel funds. Eligible applicants are emerging scholars from historically underrepresented groups (e.g., Black, Latinx, Asian, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander), regardless of citizenship, who are presenting at the CCCC convention; ten awards are reserved for first-time presenters and up to ten additional awards may go to accepted presenters who have presented at no more than three previous CCCC conventions and who have not previously received the award. Submit a 3–5 page expanded abstract plus the completed Scholars for the Dream Eligibility Form as a single PDF to cccc@ncte.org by 2026-10-10; winners are notified by early December.
