Cecilia Steinfeldt Fellowship for Research in the Arts and Material Culture

About this program

Offered by the Texas State Historical Association, the Cecilia Steinfeldt Fellowship for Research in the Arts and Material Culture awards $1,000 annually for the best proposal on decorative and fine arts, material culture, preservation, or architecture in Texas from the 17th century to the present. Applicants (individual researchers) must submit a proposal no longer than two pages that states the research purpose, explains the need for funding, and describes the intended end product (article, book, or exhibition), and must include a complete curriculum vitae. Applications must be submitted electronically via the TSHA Apply Now Google Form by November 15, 2026; the recipient must be present at the TSHA Annual Meeting to receive the award, and judges may withhold the prize at their discretion.
