Childcare Grants

About this program

The American Historical Association (AHA) offers childcare travel grants of up to $250 to help members offset childcare costs incurred while attending the annual meeting. Eligible expenses include babysitting at home or onsite and airfare or hotel costs for a caregiver accompanying a child; reimbursement occurs after the meeting upon submission of original receipts. Applicants must be AHA members registered for the annual meeting and be history graduate students, early-career historians, or contingent faculty, with priority given to those on the program. Only one parent per child or children may apply, and applications require a statement of childcare needs but no supporting documents or recommendations.
