Children's Literature Association Book Award

About this program

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) awards its Book Award annually to recognize an outstanding book-length contribution to scholarship and criticism in children’s literature. Eligible works must make a significant literary, cultural, historical, or theoretical contribution and be published in English with the copyright date of the year under consideration; translations may also qualify. Books must focus primarily on children’s literature, texts, or culture, while pedagogical works, anthologies, reference works, textbooks, and unrevised theses or dissertations are ineligible. Nominations must be submitted electronically by August 31.
