CITRIS-CDSS Innovation Fellowship program and AIC Awards

About this program

CITRIS, the Banatao Institute, UC Berkeley CDSS, and the Academic Innovation Catalyst (AIC) are funding the CITRIS‑CDSS Innovation Fellowship program and AIC Awards to advance UC research into market‑ready solutions for societal challenges, offering five awards per year of up to $200,000 each over two years (philanthropic and milestone‑dependent), with possible accelerated or additional funding for exceptional progress. Eligible principal investigators include those at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced, and UC Santa Cruz, as well as UC‑designated PIs at Lawrence Berkeley and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories; proposals should emphasize technology development for the public good, with priority for AI and other deep‑tech projects. An information session is scheduled for Oct. 2; applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an intent‑to‑apply by Oct. 6 and full proposals by Oct. 31; the full RFP and application are posted on the CITRIS website.
