Clean Energy Internship Program for Employers

About this program

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) provides funding to verified Massachusetts clean energy and water innovation employers to host paid internships for college, vocational-technical high school, and training or certification students and recent graduates. Awards provide up to $4,320 per intern for fall or spring placements and $8,640 for summer or construction, installation, and maintenance placements, with funding available for spring, summer, and fall sessions on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligible employers must be clean energy employers registered to do business in Massachusetts and maintain at least one in-state office. Employers must register through the new Workforce Portal, post an approved internship, obtain MassCEC intern eligibility approval, and submit a co-signed offer letter; Fall 2026 enrollment begins July 30, 2026, with signed offer letters due October 2, 2026.
