Clinical Research Training Scholarship in Autoimmune Neurology

About this program

Funded by Amgen in collaboration with the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), this scholarship supports early-career investigators conducting clinical or translational research on autoimmune neurologic diseases other than multiple sclerosis. Recipients receive $65,000 annually for two years plus a $10,000 annual stipend, totaling $150,000, to support research, education, and training. Applicants must be AAN members with an MD, PhD, or equivalent clinical doctorate who completed residency or a PhD no more than five years before July 1, 2027, and may be based at accredited U.S. or international institutions. Projects must involve human-oriented or therapy-, diagnostic-, or tool-focused translational research, with a strong mentor and institutional commitment to 70% protected research time; applications are due September 10, 2026.
