Clinician's Professional Enrichment Grant (CPEG)

About this program

The Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) offers the Clinician's Professional Enrichment Grant (CPEG), a biennial award (next cycle 2027) providing up to $40,000 CAD to support clinically based gastroenterologists in pursuing special educational or professional skills upgrading; funds offset travel, living, and office overhead but do not cover tuition. A single award is typically granted each cycle; applications open May 1, 2026 and are due September 30, 2026 (11:59 PM ET), with awardees announced January 2027 and recognized at CDDW™ 2027. Applicants must be CAG members in good standing and are generally expected to have been in clinical practice for at least three years (exceptions exist for recently certified trainees); priority is given to clinicians without access to sabbatical funding—especially community-based gastroenterologists, part‑time academics, those from provinces not previously funded, and applicants with no academic appointment. Applications require an uploaded curriculum vitae at time of submission (the online form must be completed in one session) and may include an optional letter of support or supplementary pages; usually only one application per candidate is recommended.
