About this program

The American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) offers Co-Sponsored Events Awards to endorse conferences, colloquia, symposia, summits, and similar events that advance scholarship on theatre and performance and strengthen partnerships with related organizations. Support generally consists of an ASTR endorsement, with exceptional monetary awards capped at $500; applicants should emphasize in-kind support. Applicants may be individuals, organizations, or institutions from any country, but must be ASTR members with active membership during committee deliberations. Applications require a 1,500-word event rationale, evidence of organizational sponsorship, and a draft program, and are due April 20 or September 30, 2026.
