About this program
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development offers the Coal Refuse Energy and Reclamation Tax Credit to provide state tax credits for eligible facilities that generate electricity using coal refuse. The credit supports acid-gas emission control and the use of facility-produced ash to reclaim mining-affected sites. Eligible applicants are qualified taxpayers operating facilities that meet these power-generation, emissions-control, and reclamation requirements.
