College of Medicine Program Project Grants (COM-PPG)

About this program

The College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) offers the COM-PPG to fund one interdisciplinary team per year (3–4 COM faculty) with $150,000/year for two years ($300,000 total), including up to $20,000/year per PI for salary, to support basic, translational, or clinical research and to position teams for competitive multi-PI NIH PPG-equivalent proposals and high-impact publications. Eligible applicants are teams of 3–4 faculty with primary COM appointments (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) with complementary expertise; projects should align with MUSC Health/MUSC strategic areas (cancer-focused teams should apply to the Hollings Cancer Center Team Science Award). A 2-page Letter of Intent (single PDF with departmental letters of support, team details, preliminary data and aims, cores and directors, and integration plans) is due October 15; selected teams are invited to submit a full 6-page program application plus project pages, NIH-format biosketches, budgets, 6-month progress reports, milestones, and reviewer names.
