College/University and Amateur Performance Grant

About this program

The Kurt Weill Foundation for Music offers grants of up to $15,000 to colleges, universities, and amateur performing arts organizations for production expenses associated with Kurt Weill and/or Marc Blitzstein stage works, or musical expenses for eligible concert works. Applications are due November 1, with an additional June 1 deadline, and may support projects occurring from January of the following year through June of the subsequent year. Eligible productions must generally use original versions and orchestrations, and college/university performances must rely primarily on student casts and orchestras; retroactive funding, overhead, new translation or adaptation costs, compilations, and incidental uses of the music are excluded. Applicants must submit an English application, project description, organizational information, itemized budget, participant biographies, proof of nonprofit status, a work sample, and recent reviews.
