Colorado Non-Motorized Trails Grants

Colorado Parks and Wildlife, funded by Great Outdoors Colorado and the Federal Recreational Trails Program, offers Non-Motorized Trails Grants for trail construction, maintenance, planning, volunteer support, and a 2027 trail stewardship crew pilot. Awards provide up to $250,000 for construction or maintenance, $45,000 for planning or support, and $150,000 for stewardship projects. Eligible applicants include local, county, federal, and tribal governments; recreation and metropolitan districts; and 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Projects must be on property controlled by the applicant and open to the public for at least 25 years, provide a 25% match including at least 10% cash, and meet applicable environmental, permitting, insurance, and completion requirements; letters of intent are due September 4, 2026, and full applications are due October 2, 2026.
