About this program

The American Sociological Association (ASA) offers Community Action Research Initiative (CARI) grants to support projects applying sociological knowledge to community issues. PhD holders or sociology PhD students working with community organizations are eligible for these grants, which provide up to $3,000 for direct costs. Applicants must be ASA members, adhere to the ASA Code of Ethics, and provide IRB approval if required.
