Young Investigator Award

About this program

Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, offers the Young Investigator Award to support promising physicians transitioning from oncology fellowship to academic faculty careers and conducting mentored clinical or laboratory oncology research. The one-year award provides $50,000 for personnel, research expenses, and travel to the Conquer Cancer Grants & Awards Ceremony at the ASCO Annual Meeting, with applications due September 11, 2026, for the July 1, 2027–July 1, 2028 award term.

Eligible applicants are MD, DO, or international-equivalent physicians from any country who are within the final two years of oncology subspecialty training, in an eligible research year, or within their first year of a full-time academic faculty appointment, and generally within 10 years of receiving their medical degree. Applicants must be pursuing an oncology investigative career, hold an active medical license, have an institutional mentor, be ASCO members or apply for membership, and commit at least 60% of their time to research.
