Cost Share for Federal Funding Opportunities Industrial Decarbonization and Improvement of Grid Operations (INDIGO) Program and Food Production Investment Program (FPIP)

About this program

The California Energy Commission offers $500,000–$5 million in cost-share funding for California projects awarded under eligible U.S. Department of Energy funding opportunities, including the INDIGO and Food Production Investment Program (FPIP) initiatives. Projects must advance industrial decarbonization, grid reliability, greenhouse-gas reduction, and clean-energy goals at eligible industrial or food-production facilities, with awards contingent on federal funding and project periods of up to six years.

Eligible applicants are public agencies and tribal governments, and applicants must provide a 50% cost share. Projects benefiting disadvantaged or low-income communities and/or tribes may receive preference points; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
