CSA College and University Collection Care Grant

About this program

The Costume Society of America offers one or more annual $1,600 College and University Collection Care Grants to support the care, conservation, display, and instructional use of historic or otherwise informative costume and textile collections. Funds may cover supplies, display materials, consultants, specialists, and other projects addressing pressing collection needs, with preference for collections receiving little or no institutional support. Eligible applicants are colleges or universities with a degree program in apparel, textiles, or theatre that legally own a preservation-focused costume or textile collection and provide institutional staffing and support for its care; institutions may apply only once every three years. Applications are due November 1, 2026, and recipients must be or become CSA members and complete projects by June 30, 2028.
