About this program
The Danish American Heritage Society offers the biennial DAHS Book Award, a $2,500 prize to the author of an outstanding non-fiction scholarly book in English on Danish American or Danish topics. For the 2027 cycle the award covers books published in 2024, 2025, and early 2026; republished and self-published volumes are ineligible. Authors, publishers, journal editors, or agents may nominate one book per online nomination form (including author and publisher contact details), and nominated books must be sent to all three committee members (or one hard copy to the chair plus electronic copies if cost is a hardship). Deadline is October 1, 2026; decisions will be announced in 2027 and inquiries may be directed to committee chair Lise Kildegaard at kildegli@luther.edu.
