Dan & Hope Rigel Educational Grant

About this program

The Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences (AAPS), with support from private and corporate sponsors, offers the $1,000 Dan & Hope Rigel Educational Grant to fund student collecting trips or the purchase of rock, mineral, and fossil specimens for educational use. The award may be divided among multiple recipients at the AAPS Board’s discretion. Applicants need not be AAPS members but must submit a use-of-funds letter, school acknowledgment on letterhead, faculty card copy, and a current photograph by November 1 for consideration for the following calendar year. Awards are based on demonstrated need and the proposed educational use, with recipients expected to provide photos and appreciation letters and return any unused funds.
