The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the biennial Dan M. Frangopol Medal for Life-Cycle Engineering of Civil Structures, recognizing outstanding research contributions to life-cycle design, assessment, inspection, maintenance, and cost optimization of civil infrastructure. The award includes a bronze medal and an honorarium, with presentation at the Structures Congress or ASCE Annual Convention. Nominees may be of any nationality and do not need to be ASCE members, although membership is preferred among otherwise equally qualified candidates; individuals may receive the award only once. Nominations are due November 1 and must include a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biography, and up to three recommendation letters.
