About this program
The American Statistical Association offers the David R. Cox Foundations of Statistics Award to honor significant contributions to the conceptual, theoretical, philosophical, or historical foundations of statistical inference, experimental design, and data analysis. The recipient receives a $2,000 honorarium and up to $1,000 in travel support to present a lecture at the Joint Statistical Meetings. Researchers may be nominated for a paper, monograph, book, or cumulative body of work reflecting Cox’s intellectual contributions; nominations are due November 1 and must include a nomination letter, the candidate’s CV, and two letters of support of no more than two pages each.
