Deborah L. Nichols Meeting Access Grants

About this program

Society for American Archaeology (SAA) funds the Deborah L. Nichols Meeting Access Grant (DNMAG) to provide up to $500 toward attendance at the SAA in-person Annual Meeting for costs such as airfare, lodging (within the SAA room block), meals, registration, childcare, poster printing, visa-related expenses, and local transportation. The grant supports members who might otherwise be unable to attend and is awarded twice yearly. Applicants must be current SAA members and satisfy at least one criterion: student (undergraduate or graduate), first‑generation college student, international member, Indigenous/Native American/Alaskan Native/Native Hawaiian/First Nations person, or a first‑time presenter at the Annual Meeting. Applications are accepted in summer and fall (summer deadline 15 July 2026, 3:00 PM ET); awards are distributed by February 15 and recipients may not reapply until the following calendar year.
