Deming Lecturer Award

About this program

The American Statistical Association’s Deming Lecturer Award honors an individual whose work reflects W. Edwards Deming’s contributions to survey sampling, industrial statistics, quality management, statistical thinking, or transformative organizational leadership. The recipient delivers an invited Deming Lecture at the following year’s Joint Statistical Meetings and receives a $1,000 honorarium plus paid travel expenses. Nominees are evaluated on significant, innovative, or game-changing contributions and effective promotion or application of statistics in business, industry, government, or other fields. Nominations are due November 1 and must include a nominating letter, CV, two letters of support, a short biography, and a headshot.
