About this program

The Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund (BoRSF) Departmental Enhancement program provides competitive grants to build educational and research infrastructure and capacity in academic, research, and agricultural departments through comprehensive multi‑year or targeted short‑term projects, funding activities from equipment purchases to curricular redesign and graduate student support; FY2026–27 deadline: October 23, 2026. Applications are accepted from any eligible, formally recognized department or unit (including a multidisciplinary component), with disciplines funded on a rotating every‑other‑year basis. The BoRSF/SREB Doctoral Support Initiative awards up to ten statewide support slots per year to graduate schools or governing units to recruit and retain doctoral students who plan to enter the professoriate; each slot includes an academic‑year supplement, SREB Doctoral Scholars membership, and participation in SREB’s Institute on Teaching and Mentoring (FY2026–27 deadline: November 4, 2026). Eligible institutions apply for the doctoral slots and determine distribution of individual slots among qualified departments and students.
