Direct Action Visionary Grants

About this program

The American Psychological Foundation (APF) offers Direct Action Visionary Grants of up to $60,000 for innovative, evidence-based psychological interventions or resources that address urgent community needs, particularly prejudice, stigma, violence, and mind-body health. Projects should align with at least one APF Visionary Priority and may be implemented in clinical, academic, or community settings. Individuals and organizations are eligible, and applicants need not be psychologists, but an expert in the relevant psychological intervention must be centrally involved throughout the project. Letters of intent are accepted on a rolling basis, with the next stated deadline of October 30, 2026; proposed work must demonstrate implementation capacity and may not be limited to proof-of-concept studies, clinical trials, or facility improvements.
