About this program
The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) offers the Distinguished Service Award to honor outstanding achievements in family and consumer sciences, significant contributions to the profession, and sustained leadership at the state and national levels. Established in 1979, the award recognizes accomplished AAFCS members rather than providing research funding. Applicants should demonstrate a distinguished record of professional achievement, service to the family and consumer sciences field, and sustained association leadership. Applications for the 2027 award open August 1, 2026, and close October 15, 2026.
