Distinguished Service to SSA Award

About this program

The Seismological Society of America’s Distinguished Service Award honors individuals whose exceptional, sustained contributions significantly advance the Society’s mission, operations, programs, or community. Awardees receive Honorary Membership in SSA, with selection determined by a three-fourths vote of the Board of Directors. Any person may be nominated except current Directors, Director-elects, or Board officers; nominations must be submitted by an eligible SSA member and include a one- to two-page letter, a signed nominator disclosure form, and optional letters of support. Materials are due to the SSA Secretary by September 30 at midnight PST and should be emailed to awards@seismosoc.org.
