Domestic Violence Symposium and Impact Reporting Fund

USC Center for Health Journalism is hosting a virtual Domestic Violence Symposium on September 23, 2026 (8:30 am–2:30 pm PT) and is offering an Impact Reporting Fund to support reporting that frames domestic violence as a public health issue. Reporters who attend the symposium may apply for reporting grants of $2,000–$10,000, receive five months of mentorship from a veteran journalist, and may be eligible for an additional $1,000–$2,000 engagement grant. Grant applicants must be professional reporters with a California‑focused reporting idea; the symposium itself is open to journalists nationwide, and projects that partner with community‑based organizations and include first‑person storytelling are especially encouraged.
